NEEMA BARNETTE WINS IMAGE AWARD

NEEMA WON!  Black History Mini Docs is proud to announce that our curator, and legendary filmmaker, Neema Barnette has won an 2024 NAACP image award for outstanding directing in a comedy series,"Grand Crew”.  Neema won her first image award for the afterschool special, "One More Hurdle the Donna Cheek Story” in 1986. In 1986 Neema became the first African American woman to direct a sitcom in television history. Please join us in celebrating a true pioneer in television and film.
